Butternut Squash Soup

1 medium onion
2 tbsp butter
3 garlic cloves
1 lrg butternut squash
2 red potatoes
5 C chicken broth
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tsp thyme

-Cut potato into cubes
-Take off skin and de-seed squash and cut into cubes
-Mince garlic and onion
-Combine all ingredients above in slow cooker
-Cook on high for 7.5 hours
-After take potato masher and mash soup right in slow cooker
